We have the honor to represent to

to your Lordships,
that it have received with the Rent roll of the Colony of Hong Kong for the year 1847, bransmitted to us in support of the sums brought to credit in the Treasurer's Accounts under the Head of Land Rent, statements of allotments of Land held from Lease or otherwise, which the Holders have petitioned to resign and have been "allowed to do So, subject to Earl Grey's decision on payment of Rent up to dates specified in the Statements.
The dates are, in most instances, the expiration of the Quarter immediately preceding the date of the Governor's decision, but in some few cases the Rent is abandoned for longer periods, but not exceeding in any case, a Quarter's Rent.
The total amount of annual Rental of the lands resigned by the Petitioners is 21,146.9.17. 14,
